Triaxis Mineral Technology

RUFA

Reactive Ultra-Fine Fly Ash

A reactive ultra-fine mineral material studied in cement-based systems and supplied by Triaxis for published research. RUFA is also incorporated within the VELITH White BCSA architectural mineral casting platform.

What is RUFA?

An ultra-fine reactive fly ash used in cementitious material research.

Published research describes RUFA as a reactive ultra-fine fly ash with predominantly spherical, micron-scale particles and substantial amorphous content. In the cited 2020 study, particle sizes were reported in the approximate range of 0.1–10 μm.

Its very fine particle size and spherical morphology have been investigated for their effects on workability, particle packing, pozzolanic reaction, pore structure and engineering performance in cement-based systems.

Important: These statements summarize published research on the specific cement systems studied. They are not a declaration that every research result automatically applies to every Triaxis or VELITH formulation.
Material Characteristics

Why RUFA is technically interesting.

Ultra-Fine Particle Scale

RUFA has been studied as a micron-scale supplementary mineral component finer than conventional cement and ordinary fly ash.

Spherical Morphology

Published work describes a largely spherical particle morphology, relevant to flow and particle-packing behavior in cementitious systems.

Reactive Mineral Phase

Research reports high amorphous content and pozzolanic activity, providing a basis for continued study in performance-oriented mineral formulations.

Independent Research Footprint

RUFA has been studied beyond Triaxis product literature.

The publications below are independent academic studies. They establish a searchable research history for RUFA and, in several cases, identify Triaxis as the material supplier.

RUFA in VELITH

Research heritage, translated into an architectural mineral platform.

VELITH uses RUFA as one component of a broader mineral system that also includes a White BCSA-based binder, hybrid fiber reinforcement, controlled premixing, vacuum de-airing, air curing and a separate surface-protection system.

Within VELITH, RUFA is used to support the formulation objectives of controlled flow, particle packing, matrix refinement and consistent mineral casting. Finished-product performance depends on the complete VELITH formulation and production process — not on RUFA alone.

Evidence boundary: Academic RUFA studies provide independent material background. VELITH-specific claims should be supported by VELITH formulation data, internal product-development tests or project-specific third-party testing as applicable.
